Ellen Margaret Detrick Walker
Age 101, of Phillipsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013. She was born September 21, 1911, in Phillipsburg, Ohio, to her parents David & Mary "Lizzie" (Kress) Detrick. Ellen graduated from Phillipsburg High School Class of 1929. She worked as a homemaker on the family farm and retired from NCR in office service. She was a lifelong, faithful and active member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg and was involved in many community clubs including West Milton Senior Citizens, MAC Club, and the Clay Township Historical Society. She loved to read, spend time in her garden and travel with her family. Ellen enjoyed old friends and meeting new friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ambert Walker and her parents. She will be missed and remembered by her daughters and son-in-law Suzanne & Oscar Page of Miamisburg, DaOnne (Bob-dec'd) Woolf of Phillipsburg; grandchildren Nancy Jones, Dr. David Page, Diane Naylor, Doug Woolf, Steve Woolf, Jeff Woolf; 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, June 9, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 44 East Main Street, Phillipsburg, Ohio. Pastor Todd Mills will officiate with interment following at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30-8:00 PM Friday at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
