Havis Eloise Hollingsworth Callahan, 97, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab. She was born March 10, 1920 to Charlie and Bessie Holt in Newton County, MS.

Survivors include daughters, Winnie (Buddy) McKay, Ala Jo (Larry) Harper; son, Wayne (Lynda) Hollingsworth; daughter-in-law, Lourie Hollingsworth, 21 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and numerous great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother, Lavell Holt; sisters, Dot, Nell, Ann, Joyce, and Via.

In addition to her parents and step-mother Mavis, she was preceded in death by her husbands, S. B. Hollingsworth and Bill Callahan; daughters, Angie Hollingsworth and Peggy Davis; son, Charles Hollingsworth; brothers, J.C., Gerald, Malfred and William; as well as sister, Vie.

Always energetic and hardworking, she served as President of both her Eastern Star Chapter and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid gardener, quilter, and loved spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook and served many wonderful meals to her family and friends in her home. She was of the Baptist Faith.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Albert and the staff at Brandon Nursing and Rehab Center for their special care of our dear Mom.

Visitation will be at 10:00AM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Lakewood Funeral Home with services following at 11:00. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
