Elva Ingram Turner, 100, of Blue Ridge Manor of Martinsville and formally of Ridgeway where she was a long-time resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. She was born in Ferrum, Va. on May 16, 1917 to Robert Spottswood Ingram and Lillie Mae Peters Ingram.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Russel Turner; brothers, Herman Poff Ingram, Guy Ingram, Lynza Ingram; sisters, Jewel Ingram Hagood, Iva Ingram Moran, and Ruby Ingram West; step-mothers, Doris Young Ingram and Victoria Ross Ingram; nephew Timothy Guy Ingram

She is survived by her sister Marie Hazlewood; sister-in-law Doris C. Ingram; brother-in-law Odell Moran; step-sister Christine Eanes; nieces, Sandra Hazlewood, Lynda Milteer and Karen Fenter; nephews, Greg West, Larry Moran, Ken Moran, and Jack Turner.

Mrs. Turner retired from Dupont as a supervisor with 35 years of service. She was a member of the Shannon Hills Homemaker Club, Bereavement Committee, Alpha and Omega Sunday School Class, and was very active in the Starling Avenue Baptist Church when she was able.

The family extends special thanks to the staff and administration of Blue Ridge Manor for the outstanding care and special love given to Elva during her three year residence at the Manor. The family also greatly appreciates the care, concern and love from the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Roselawn Burial Park with Chaplain Jeff Rhea officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at McKee Stone Funeral Home.
