Emily Hedrick, age 75, of Bernalillo passed away Monday, March 12. She is survived by her daughters, Hazel Romero (Paul Aguilar) and Sherri Royce; daughter-in-law, Zada Hedrick; grandchildren, Vanessa, (Joey), Michelle, Andrea, Michael, Jennifer, and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Alcario, Daniel, Marisa, Felicia and Analicia Emilia; sisters, Margie Duran (Orlando), Diana Garcia; brothers, Ernest Maes (Marty), Johnnie Garcia (Christy), Gilbert Garcia (Christine), Paul Garcia (Jo), Donald Garcia (Bonnie), and Jerry Garcia (Margaret); brother-in-law, Tom Hedrick and wife Loretta; sister-in-law, Tomiko Hedrick, and several nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband, James L. Hedrick; beloved sons, James A. Hedrick and Bruce Hedrick; mother, Ofelia Garcia (Juan); and brother, Leonard Garcia. Emily was very generous and loyal to those she loved. She was very interested and active in local politics. She volunteered for many years in the local schools and at the voting polls during elections in Bernalillo. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to sister-in-law Loretta Hedrick, as well as Dr. Lovett, Marla, Cristina, Gerri, Annette, Jimmie and Yvette of Vista Care for their support and exceptional quality of care for Emily. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 18 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Services will be held on Monday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Pallbearers will be her siblings.
