Emma Luise Christie Obituary

Emma L. Christie, 73, of Crabtree went home to be with the Lord on Saturday at Cambridge Terrace Assisted Living Community of Albany Oregon.

Emma was born in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Carl and Martha (Laughery) Wiley. She lived and attended her schooling in Ohio. In 1948, she moved to Oregon and resided in the Crabtree area. She has continued living in the Crabtree area throughout her adult life.

She was a longtime member of the Crabtree Christian Church and TOPS

Emma L. Christie, 73, of Crabtree went home to be with the Lord on Saturday at Cambridge Terrace Assisted Living Community of Albany Oregon.

Emma was born in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Carl and Martha (Laughery) Wiley. She lived and attended her schooling in Ohio. In 1948, she moved to Oregon and resided in the Crabtree area. She has continued living in the Crabtree area throughout her adult life.

She was a longtime member of the Crabtree Christian Church and TOPS groups. She enjoyed crocheting and needle work, collecting dolls and stuffed animals, listening to country western music, watching game shows and classic movies on the television, and when she was able to, she enjoyed mowing her grass and working in her yard.

Emma married Edwin S. Christie Sr. on July 16, 1955, in Crabtree. She was preceded in death by Edwin on Aug. 3, 2004.
She is survived by son Edwin Christie Jr. of Crabtree; daughters Linda Christie of Crabtree and Paula Rhodaback of Albany; sister Jane Wharton of Amhurst, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
