Emma Lee Dixon, age 83, departed this life on October 21, 2017.

Emma was the daughter of John and Annie Dixon was born in Greene County, NC on August 30, 1934. She accepted Christ at an early age where she served until she moved to Katy, TX with her daughter and son-in-law Doris and Samuel Bell Jr. She became a member of Mt, Sinai Baptist Church of Houston, TX working with the Senior Ministry until she moved to Fayetteville in April of this year to live with her son Joe and wife Dot under the watch care of Refuge Community Church.

Emma graduated from High School in North Carolina and later moved to Philadelphia, PA with her family. She worked in a clothing factory making suits until it closed. She later worked at a nursing home until she retired.

Emma was well liked by many, her enormous personality and big smile will be remembered and solely missed. She enjoyed life and loved helping people, having family gatherings, making people laugh, and be excited about life. Her passions were any type of games or crafts. She enjoyed making tissue boxes, pillows, calling Bingo and was an avid card player of Spades. Every night you would see Emma on her computer or in her coloring book.

She was preceded by her parents John and Annie Dixon, her brothers Johnny and Charlie Dixon, and sister Mary Jane Smith.

Emma leaves to cherish her memory three children, Barbara Deyo, James (Joe) Dixon, and Doris Bell; daughter-in-law Minister Dorothy F. Dixon, and son-in-law Minister Samuel L. Bell Jr. three grandchildren, Sean Dixon, Iris Dixon, and Brian Bell; sister Helena Barns, brother LeRoy Dixon and a host of family members and friends.

Mom was a wise and wonderful mother with a smile made of sunshine. She was our friend and will greatly be missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Refuge Community Church, 2314 LA Dunham Road, Fayetteville. NC. A visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 at the church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester, PA, Tuesday, October 31 at 12:00 pm.
