Emma Lou Cantrell, 84, passed away on May 22, 2016 in Garland, Texas. Emma was born in Rylie Springs, Texas to Dewey and Rosa Lou Blount on August 21, 1931. Emma was a very talented seamstress. She loved to sew and made all of kid’s clothes while they were growing up. She even made her daughters, Janet and Martha’s, Barbie doll clothes. Emma enjoyed being involved in her children’s lives. She was the PTA president for many years while her children were in school. Emma liked the beach and would most of the time find herself at the beach when on vacation. She loved pets, at one time she had a whole farm in her backyard. Just like her own children, Emma was occupied with her grandchildren’s lives. She loved her family and her family loved her. After retirement Emma begin to study her family’s genealogy. She had studied for years and collected a lot over those years. Those who preceded Emma in death are her parents and her sister, Louise Deavers. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Bonita Blazer and husband, Marvin, her sons, Jesse Schreiner Jr., Eddie Schreiner and wife Linda. Her daughters, Janet Newkirk, and husband Jeff, and Martha Schreiner. Grandchildren, Jesse Schreiner III and wife Tammy, Jonathon Newkirk and wife Chelsea, and Jeremey Newkirk and girlfriend, Nikole Brau, her great grandchildren, Logan, Reagan, Ava, Olivia, and Jenna. She also leaves many nieces nephews extended family and friends.
