E. Margaret Haukoos, age 99, of Lake Mills, IA, formerly of Walters, MN, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, IA. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM, at United Lutheran Church in Walters, MN, with Pastor Donald Rose officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Walters Cemetery.

Emma Margaret Haukoos was born February 13, 1918, on the family farm near Walters, MN, the daughter and one of 15 children born to Peter A. and Mary (Hauskins) Haukoos. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Walters, now United Lutheran. Margaret was a lifelong resident of Walters. She liked to pick up sticks and keep her yard and flowers tidy. She enjoyed reading and writing, and playing with her beloved cat, Kiki. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and often spent weekends with them.

Margaret is survived by her children: Duane Haukoos of Show Low, AZ, and Diane Langfald of Lake Mills, IA; 5 grandchildren: Lonna (Richard) Tweeten of Forest City, IA, Lanette (Curt) Maser of Lake Mills, IA, Jack (Mandy) Langfald of Cheyenne, WY, Jeffrey Langfald of Lake Mills, IA and Jason (Rachel) Haukoos; 12 great-grandchildren: April (Alex) McCormick-Quinlain of Sioux City, IA, Jacob, Jessica, and Matthew Tweeten; Cory, Amanda, Trevor, and Emma Maser; Dani Langfald and Evan Langfald, Landon and Kyler Haukoos; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: 10 brothers and 4 sisters: Russell, Otis, Lester, Millard, Herman, Harold, Leonard, Wallace "Bud", Joseph, Earl "Tommy", Tommy's twin sister in infancy, Pearl, Frances and Marian; and son-in-law, Mark Langfald.
