Balderas, Encarnacíon (Chon)
On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, Encarnacíon, fondly known as "Grandpa" Balderas went to be with our Lord after a long, happy and active life at the age of 105. He was born June 27, 1912 in Falfurrias, Texas, the son of Victoriano Balderas and Carlota Garza Balderas. He met his beloved, Lorenza DeLeon in Weslaco where they married in 1938 and resided for years. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love and compassion of God and for each other. Later they moved to Brownsville, Tx and raised their family.
He worked for Humble/Exxon Oil, driving a gasoline truck and retired after 22 years.
A hard worker, but he will most be remembered for his smile, sense of humor, love for God, family, and friends. He also loved watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He was always a kid at heart, even in his advanced age.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lorenza (1993) and their daughter, Edna Garza (2017); son in law, Mac Lara (2003); grandson, Joey Garza (2006) and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include, daughters, Christy Garza and Rosie Lara; son, Sonny Balderas, honorary daughter, Josie Gibson, and family.

Visitation and Rosary will be Sunday, December 10, 5-8 pm. at Bean- Massey-Burge, 2951 S. Belt line Rd, Grand Prairie, Tex. 75052
Funeral on Monday 2 pm at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington, Tx.
