In Sacramento, Rico passed away peacefully with his children by his side on 1/14/18 at the age of 94. Rico was born in Sacramento on 6/15/23 to Italo and Penelope Nannini. He attended local schools and remained in Sacramento throughout his life. He married his sweetheart and love of his life, Patricia Lee Wickman in September 1947. They had four children, Gary Nannini, Robert Nannini, Karen Babcock, and Janet Nannini. Preceded in death by his wife Patricia and son Robert, he is survived by his children Gary, Karen (Guy) and Janet; grandchildren Kellie,
Courtney (Ryan), Jaymie, Caitlin, Matthew, Gregory, Michelle (Ethan), Christyn, Max and Bryan; great-grandchildren Cade, Raeya, Aubrey, Addyson, Ethan, Jax, Leila, Carter and Maddix. Also survived by his sister Emily Ziliotto, niece Julianna, and brother-in-law Bud Wickman. Rico was a career employee of the California Secretary of State's office, retiring in 1984 as the Deputy Secretary of State. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the US Army Corps of Engineers. During his life he was an avid fisherman and hunter and a die-hard San Francisco 49er and Giants fan. He loved the sport of bowling, having bowled two perfect 300 games while in his mid-80s. His philosophy was ''if you want to do better, compete against those that are better than you are." Friends are invited to attend a mass followed by interment on Wednesday January 24, 2018 at 11AM at Calvary Catholic Cemetery,7101Verner Ave, Sacramento, CA 59841.
