WALDEN, Eric L., 72, passed away Thursday, January 25th at Moffitt Cancer Center. He was born May 20, 1945 in Princeton Indiana to Nancy and Paul Walden.
Eric received a B.S. degree in Business Education from Oakland City University, in Indiana and a M.B.A. degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M. He received numerous Honors during his college career.
Eric started his career as an Accountant at Vincennes University, from 1967 to 1970. The following three years he served as Chief Accountant at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins Texas. In 1973, he was named controller at the University of South Florida. In 2003, he took on the role of Treasure of University of South Florida until he retired in 2008.
Eric was a member of Corpus Christi Church and Choir, sang in a men's a-cappella quartet and served over 30 years on the board of directors for ACTS (Agency for Community Treatment Services) as well as many other committees.
Eric is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dee Walden; sons, Kristian, Tony and wife, Benisha; daughter-in-law, Jackie; daughter, Mika; father, Paul Walden; sisters and brothers, Celesta Malone, Paulette Tamaya, Alfreida Lawrence, Clarence Walden, and Jonathan Walden; grandsons, Alex, Brehnen, Christian and Nick; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy; son, Mark; sister, Elizabeth; and brother, Dennis.
The viewing will be held at 10:30 to 11:30 on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Corpus Christi Church, followed by a Mass at 11:30. Interment will follow in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.

He was a wonderful husband, father, Christian, and friend to everyone. He will be dearly missed.
