Ernestine Rogers went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2017 (her 94th birthday) at the home of her daughter in Texas Visitation will be at 10:00 am, November 27 at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl Mississippi. The Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am in the Chapel.

Mrs. Rogers was born on November 20, 1923 in Standing Pine, Mississippi to Odus and Ophelia Scott. After her marriage to Charlie Rogers of Walnut Grove, she moved to Jackson and Brandon, Ms. She moved to live with family in 2014 in Mendenhall and on to Houston, Texas.

Mrs. Rogers was a long time employee of Ms. Southern Farm Bureau and then U. S. Postal Service. She retired from Postal Service in 1988. She was a former member of Van Winkle Baptist and most recently Park Hill Baptist Church (homebound).

Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband of sixty plus years, Charlie E. Rogers, her parents, two brothers, Gordon and Emmet Scott and two sisters, Helen Ogletree and Mable Coats and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Billy) Hunter of Houston, Texas, 2 sisters Frances (Mark) Peoples of Mendenhall, Sue Freeney of Standing Pine and one brother Burt (Ann) Scott of Standing Pine, 3 grandchildren, Aylisa (Ricky) Grubbs of Braxton, Chuck (Tiffany) Mangum of Mendenhall, Dennis (Claudia) Mangum of Byhalia. 7 great grandchildren (Morgan and Aubrey (Jami) Cook , Cody Bruce, Madison (Jeremy) Rakinic, Dylan (Nicole) Mangum, Mary Francis and Charlotte Mangum __7 great great grandchildren (Marlee, Macie and Jurnie Rakinic, Delaney Mangum, Aspen Majors, Wheatley Cook and Brody Bruce) and many many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church, 4862 McRaven Road, Jackson, Ms. 39204. Her legacy is her faith in her savior, her family and her friends.
