In Loving Memory

Esdras "Eddie" R. Hernandez
May 19, 1993 - December 10, 2017

Esdras "Eddie" Hernandez was only 24 years old when his precious life was snatched by a drunk driver on the morning of Sunday, December 10 at the intersection of Houston and Washington Ave. A cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, Eddie was born May 19, 1993 in Gracias, Lempira, Honduras. He arrived in the United States at a very young age and became a true American.

Eddie attended all Aldine ISD schools and graduated from Aldine High School where he played football and developed alove for sports. He subsequently graduated from The Lone Star's Firefighter Academy, while working two jobs, and volunteering his time with the Houston's Little York Fire Department. Eddie generously gave of himself and celebrated life with everyone he met.

He is survived by his mom, Ana Elsy Hernandez, sisters Faviola Hernandez and Biviana Diaz, his little brother Victor David Diaz, his beautiful beloved niece Samantha Velazquez, and many true friends. He so loved his niece Sammy and his siblings and was proud in all they achieved in life with his unwavering support.

Eddie had a passion for family, work, and community. Employed by Discount Tire as an assistant manager for the past 4 years, his dream to become a full time firefighter, police officer, and serve his country was taken too short. A lover of country music, fireworks, the outdoors, and the gym, he was also a treasured member of the local Green Ridge community and lifeguard where he energized those around him.

Eddie was the life of many a party, always willing to raise a glass with friends and family. He had a personality that was hard to miss and thankfully impossible to forget. His joy for life will remain in all those who knew him as we celebrate life in his honor.
