Esperanza G. "Hope" Rodriguez, age 87 of East Moline, a resident of Riverwood Rehab, was called to her eternal home to be with the love of her life, her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 15, 2015.

Services will be private. Interment will take place at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Condolences may be left for the family at www.hodgsonfuneralhome.com.

Esperanza was born on July 18, 1927 in Brownsville, TX, the daughter of Antonio and Amalia (Gallardo) Galvan. She worked as a house cleaner for many area families, and also had worked at the sandwich line at Bishop's Buffet in South Park Mall, Moline.

Esperanza's passion was living for the Lord and sharing the gospel of salvation to anyone who would listen. She had a boldness to speak the truth, and never compromised the word of God. She was a simple and humble person, always giving God the glory & praise.

Esperanza also enjoyed being a homemaker, and keeping a tidy and organized home. She loved to sew, and took great pride in making clothes for her family and herself. She also made the best homemade flour tortillas you ever tasted, and would make a big stack daily.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Enrique Ramos, Colona; granddaughter, Lucinda Martinez, East Moline; grandson, Melvin Stanley, Milwaukee, WI, and great granddaughter, Madison Stanley.

Esperanza was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, a son, and three daughters.

"It was an honor and a blessing to have had you in our lives, and now you are in heaven, resting and rejoicing in His presence. Knowing this gives us comfort, peace, and strength to continue pressing on in this life. We look forward to our eventual reunion in the hereafter."
