Eugene A. "Gene" Flanders, of Chili, NY passed away on October 8, 2017 at age 78, a loving husband, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survived by his wife of 45 years, Maureen Flanders; children, Mark (Peter Bisuito) Flanders, Kathleen (Les Sherman) Wolf, Jeffrey (Patty) Gladding, and James (Kay) Gladding; siblings, Nadine (Gerald) Carlson, James Flanders, and Elaine Chappell. Five grandsons: Bryan Gladding, Jeffrey Gladding, Frank Gladding, Thomas Wolf, Dennis Wolf and four great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Gene grew up in PA, where he played in the oil fields and began his lifelong passion for restoring and building cars. He was drafted into the U.S. Army where he proudly served for two years. He was employed at Zippo Lighters in PA and later had a successful career at Eastman Kodak. Gene was a long term member of the Rochester Street Rod Club where he made lifetime friends and mentored and influenced many. He was a skilled and talented artist, story writer, photographer and videographer who wrote hundreds of humorous stories and painted as many beautiful oil paintings. These stories and paintings were eventually used to create his business, Storyteller Graphics.

Gene's greatest gifts, however, were the extreme kindness, compassion, sense of humor and patience he shared with everyone. He was a humble man who deeply loved his family and was a major influence in all of their lives. His children and grandsons were his particular pride and joy.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 1-3PM and 5-8PM at the Funeral Home of ALVAH HALLORAN & SON, 2125 Chili Ave., Gates. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 13th at the Funeral Home.
