Eula Lee (Penny) Gripon, 84, a native of Beaumont, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, after a lengthy struggle with breast cancer. She was born on May 30, 1933, the daughter of Leo K. and Eula Mae Gripon.

She was a former member of North End Baptist Church, where she taught children's Sunday School Classes, and was affectionately known as "Miss Penny". She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, and took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She retired from the Texas Employment Commission where she held a number of positions in several departments. She is best known as "the face of TEC", as she was the first person job-seekers would meet when they came in the door to look for work.

Penny is survived by her son Stephen Guidry of Ft. Worth, her daughter Denise Sheard of Silsbee, grandchildren J. L. Ethridge, Regina Anderson, Austin Guidry, and Caroline Guidry, as well as several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 4 - 6 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10 AM at Forest Lawn Chapel, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
