Evangelos “Angy” Nichols, 85, died peacefully Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Anne Arundel County Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland.

He was a life-long resident of Annapolis and owner of the landmark Little Campus Inn on Maryland Avenue. After graduating with his Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, Mr. Nichols joined the U.S. Air Force for four years. Following his time in the Air Force he returned to Annapolis where he met his wife, Mary Ellen. They were happily married for 29 years before her passing.

Upon his return to Annapolis, Mr. Nichols became owner of the Little Campus Inn, which quickly turned into a popular Annapolis meeting place, visited by locals, legislators, college students, celebrities such as President Bill Clinton and was the birthplace of the Navy v. St. John’s croquet match. He was an avid golf-player and a fan of the University of Maryland Terrapins and Baltimore Orioles. Mr. Nichols is survived by his daughter, Niki Nichols O'Herlihy and her husband, Hil, his son, Ted Nichols and his wife Kim, as well as four grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 11th from 6:00-8:00 pm at John M. Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester St, Annapolis. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 12th at 11:00 am at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis. Interment at St. Demetrios Cemetery.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
