Evelyn C. Driscoll 92, of Arch Street, Keene, NH died peacefully on Saturday., December 30, 2017 with her loving family by her side after a long struggle with dementia.

She was born in Harrisville, NH on October 3, 1925 the daughter of Howard and Clarice (Beaulieu) Main. Following her mother's death when she was three years old, her father married Jennie who raised her and her brother Gene as her own. Two more brothers followed, Howard and Edward Main.

She was raised in Harrisville, graduating in 1943 from Keene High School. Following her graduation, she entered the Elliot Community Hospital School of Nursing graduating as a registered nurse in 1946.

In 1947 she married her soul mate, Edward F. Driscoll in Keene. They had three children, Donna, David and Douglas. They were married for fifty-two years until his passing in 1999.

Evelyn worked at the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital while her children were young. Later she became the Windham Supervisory District School Nurse serving five areas elementary school; East and West Dummerston, Putney, Guilford and Vernon, VT.

She enjoyed many things, but mostly she enjoyed her family one and all. Her Christmas card list was legendary. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing and dancing at the local American Legion halls in Brattleboro and Keene.

Survivors include her daughter; Donna Smith and her husband Tom of Ashuelot, NH, her son Douglas Driscoll and his wife Judy of Pilot Mountain, NC and her son David Driscoll and his Pamela of Las Vegas, NV; her brother Edward Main of Swanzey, NH and her sister-in-law Catherine Main of Keene, NH; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Edward, brothers, Gene Main and Howard "Bucky" Main, sisters-in-law Elizabeth "Betty" Lavigne and Arlene Main.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene, NH on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. Daniel O. Lamothe will be the celebrant. Spring burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
