Evelyn Devota (Lady) Martin passed away February 17, 2015 in Kennewick Washington, from complications of Alzheimer's and Diabetes.
Evelyn was born on April 27, 1930 in Kansas City Missouri, to Orvel C. Lady and Alma (VonderLeith) Lady. The family moved to Oregon when she was 6.
Evelyn married Fred Martin December 7, 1946 in Salem Oregon, they lived in Idana, Oregon until 1950 then moved Prineville where lived and raised a family. Evelyn moved to Kennewick in March of 2012.
While living in Prineville Evelyn worked at many different jobs, her last was at Erikson's Super Market. Evelyn enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center and the Neat Repeat for a number of years, and at the Arctic Circle during the lunch rush, she enjoyed the interaction with the patrons, as she never knew a stranger.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her Parents, Orvel and Alma Lady in 1964, Husband, Fred Martin in 1997, Son, Richard Martin in 2006, Grandson, Duane Thomas in 2003, Son-in-Law Marty Steenson in 2014, Sisters, Theo Houk, Marian Cannon, and Thelma Storey, Brothers, Orvel Lady, Earl Lady.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters Mildred Hunt of Coburg, Oregon, Shirley and Mike Thompson of Kennewick, Washington, and Cheryl Steenson of Sandy, Oregon, grandchildren, Leon Thomas, Coburg Oregon, Robyn Faris and husband Chris, West Richland, Washington, Kim Adrian and husband Beau, Scottsdale, Arizona, Scott Thompson, Kennewick, Washington, Star Steenson, Portland, Oregon, Chris Steenson and wife Carrie, Boring Oregon, Erik Steenson, Sandy, Oregon; sisters, Fay Vollman of Willamina and Carolyn Choate of Prineville, Oregon; brother, Robert Lady of Eugene, Oregon as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Evelyn leaves behind many extended family and friends who were very dear to her heart.
There will be a Funeral service at Prineville Funeral Home "Heritage Chapel" Monday, February 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM with burial at Juniper Haven Cemetery in Prineville.
