Florencio Trevino Salinas passed away on January 4, 2018. He was born on January 27, 1932 in Mexico to parents, Amelia Trevino Salinas and Florencio Salinas Reyes. Florencio was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Amparo Salinas Trevino; brother, Homero Salinas Trevino. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Concepcion Salinas Leyva; three daughters, Martha Olga Bello and husband Hector, Elizabeth Salinas Benavides and husband Arnold, Mireya Salinas Santos and husband Angel; son, Homer J. Salinas; seven grandchildren, Leo and wife Nadia, Alec, Michael, Jacob, Lucas, Marissa, Nicolas; three great grandchildren, Leslie, Liliana, and Leo; as well as numerous friends and other family members. Florencio loved his country and the culture and history that surrounded it. He enjoyed visiting history museums and learning about events from the past. Florencio was an avid reader of the newspaper. He also was an Astros fan and enjoyed watching them win the World Series. His favorite pastimes was taking his wife dancing in their younger years, spending time with his grandchildren and listening to music on YouTube. Florencio loved and was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM, and a funeral service on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
