Floyd Schwindt was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado, on September 3, 1931, to parents Phillip John and Louise (Troudt) Schwindt. Floyd was the next-to-youngest of eight children and was brother to Samuel, Ralph, Roy, Harold, Virginia, Phyllis, and Violet.

In Colorado, Floyd worked in agriculture as a sugar beet farmer. He later moved to Oregon where he went to work in the food industry for Albertson's Grocers. Following his "retirement" from Albertson's, Floyd went on to establish a cheese import business and he maintained a storefront in the Beaverton Mall for 61/2 years. After his time as a fine cheeses importer/purveyor, Floyd officially enjoyed his retired life on his 10 acres on Parrot Mountain. In 2004, Floyd moved to Sherwood, Oregon where he peacefully lived out the rest of his days.

Floyd and his loving wife Jeanne were devoted members of Zion Lutheran Church of Newberg, Oregon. They were new members to Zion on December 12, 1999.

Floyd will be remembered as a man who devoted his spare time to his family and to his home. He was especially fond of antique three-weight German clocks. He maintained a beautiful collection of clocks and not only did he collect them but he revitalized them and restored them in his private workshop.

Floyd is predeceased by his parents Louise and Phillip Schwindt and his loving son Darrel Schwindt.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife Jeanne Schwindt of Sherwood, Oregon; his sister Violet Golding of Newberg, Oregon; children: son, Gerald Schwindt: daughters, Sheila Powers of Portland, Oregon, and Vickie Parker of Troutdale, Oregon; step-children, Carolyn Blaurock of Beaverton, Oregon, and Curtis Reid of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren: Nolan and Morgan West of Idaho, Kayla Schwindt and Robin Wells of Gresham, Oregon; Adam Blaurock of Seattle, Washington and Mitchell Blaurock of Hillsboro, Oregon; great-grandchildren Brady West, Memphis West, and Ireland West of Idaho, Nathan and Kyle Blaurock of Hillsboro, Oregon; and Logan and Lilly Blaurock of Seattle, Washington.

A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 301 S River St, Newberg, OR, on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 10am. Floyd will be privately laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
