Frances Decker, 80, of Marshalls Creek passed away peacefully Sunday, August 6, at The LVH-Pocono. She was the loving wife of Albert K. Decker with whom she shared 56 years.
Born January 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Anna (Rudolph) Wentworth, of Staten Island, NY.
Frances was a graduate of New Dorp High School, Staten Island. She was employed with Nichimen Import & Export in Manhattan, NY for over 30 years. Frances was a member of the travel club, AARP, VVA, and the VFW. She enjoyed going out to the casino, playing bingo, and spending time with her family. Everyone will miss her, especially around Christmas time, when she would make decorated chocolate houses to share with family and friends. She was the sweetest, kindest, most caring woman who will be very sincerely missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
In addition to her husband Albert, Frances is survived by her children: Linda Sollazzio and her husband John, of Staten Island, NY; Ronald Decker and his wife Gina, of Hazlet, NJ; Lois Mitchell and her husband Joseph, of Staten Island, NY; and Susan Cerrato-Brown and her husband Kenneth, of Marshalls Creek; her brother: Percy Wentworth, of Staten Island, NY; and her sisters: Nancy Baxter, of Staten Island, NY; and Nettie Decker, of Nashua, NH; Her grandchildren: Nicholas, Laura, Christine, Stephanie, Joseph Jr., Matthew, and Madison. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Frances had been preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Anna Wentworth, sister Margaret Strauss, and her brother John Wentworth.
There will be a public viewing 2-4pm & 6-8pm Wednesday, August 9 at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Burial will take place Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Ocean View Cemetery, 3315 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY 10306.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post #2540, 20 Fawn Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
