THOMAS, Frances P. (McFeeley) Frances P. (McFeeley) Thomas, 80, of Vernon, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, (May 14, 2006) surrounded by her loving family. Fran was the beloved wife of the late Walter Thomas for more than 50 years. Born in New Jersey, the daughter of the late James A. and Ellen (McCarron) McFeeley. She lived in Long Island, NY for a short time and has resided in Vernon for the past 46 years. Fran was an exceptional wife, mother, sister and friend, with a limitless supply of kindness and compassion for others. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Frances is survived by her beloved sons: Lawrence and his wife Elizabeth Thomas of Foxboro, MA and Stephen Thomas of Middletown, who provided years of devoted care to his parents prior to their passing. She is also survived by her caregiver and former daughter-in-law, Pauline Dow of Vernon; her dearest sister, Margaret McFeeley of Vernon; her beloved sister-in-law, Mildred Rossi of Bergenfield, NJ; seven loving grandchildren, Meaghan, Eric, Emily, Jennifer and Jeffrey Thomas of Foxboro, MA; Shaun and Brian Baddeley of Vernon. In addition Fran leaves behind many dear friends and neighbors, to whom the family thanks for their loving prayers and support. The Thomas family sends a warm thank you to the Visiting Nurse and Health Services of CT Hospice Program staff for their support and compassion during Fran's illness. Funeral services will begin Thursday, May 18, at 10:15 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rte. 83), Vernon, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Church, 141 Maple St. (Rte. 140), Ellington at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Ellington Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 17, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Fran's name may be made to the Visit ing Nurse and Health Services of CT, Hospice Program, 8 Keynote Dr., Vernon, CT 06066.
