Frances T. "Billie" Davin, 85, longtime resident of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2016 at Manchester Manor. She was born on Oct 22, 1930, in Hartford, a daughter of the late James and Mary (Begley) Davin.
Billie attended and graduated East Hartford High School, Class of '48. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for a local accounting firm, retiring in 1992, after nearly 50 years of employment.
She will be remembered as a loving, caring, giving and adventurous soul. She was a very special person in many people's lives, always quick to help and sure to brighten any room or event she attended. She was a very special Godmother to her goddaughter Patty Kilpatrick and was a large part of her life. Wednesday's will forever be "Billie Davin Day", when her countless contributions to Patty's family and friends on that day over the years touched the lives of many children who will always remember her love and support . Her kind soul touched numerous people, and though she had no children of her own, she was so important in the lives of many. She enjoyed volunteering at the East Hartford Public Library and the Connecticut Historical Society, and traveling around the globe. She was a long time member of both the Hartford Stage and the Wadsworth Atheneum, and she loved anything related to the arts. She was a lady who appreciated a good dry martini.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Davin and his wife Ceil of Ellington, sister Jean Winther and her husband George of Mystic, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends. She was loving godmother to Patty Kilpatrick and her husband Bob of Manchester, and their children; Bobby, Ryan, Colin, and Erin.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Mary Lee and brother James "Buddy" Davin.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 18th at 10am in St. Mary Church, 15 Maplewood Ave., East Hartford. There will be a 1 hour visitation prior to the service from 8:30-9:30am at the Benjamin J. Callahan/Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford.
