Frank A. Simon, 72, of East Stroudsburg passed away March 25, 2017 at the Lehigh-Pocono Hospital. He was the loving husband of Kathy (Schafft) Simon for nearly 50 years.
He was born on January 3, 1945 in East Stroudsburg and was the son of the late Philip and Evelyn (Hineline) Simon.
Frank spent his entire life as an East Stroudsburg resident and was in the graduating class of 1964. He and his beloved wife were owners and operators of Simons Market on Stokes Ave for 14 years. Frank was also owner and operator with his partner Jim Widdoss of Superior Auto Service before working at Weiss Market in East Stroudsburg. He was a proud member of the American Legion. Frank was a simple man who loved his family.
He was a member of St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his son Matthew.
In addition to his wife survivors are: son; Tony Simon of East Stroudsburg: brothers; Mark Simon and his wife Alicia of East Stroudsburg, Dr. Philip Simon of Stroudsburg: sister; Martha Hughes and husband Jerry of East Stroudsburg: grandchildren; Jamie, Jodie, Matthew, Abby and Joseph: great granddaughter Julie: and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Thursday March 30, 2017 at Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home Inc., 27 Washington St. East Stroudsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 200 Brodhead Ave., East Stroudsburg, with Father Gerald W. Shantillo as celebrant. Burial will be at the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 2158 W Main St, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
