Frank (Lanky) Gill, beloved dad, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in law, and friend, joined his dearly missed wife, Eleanor, in heaven on November 28. 2017. Mr. Gill was born to Fransico and Sofia (Lorona) Gill on September 17, 1927 in Yuma, AZ.

He attended local Yuma area schools, married Eleanor Chavez in 1950 and was a near lifelong resident of North Gila Valley and communicant of St. Thomas Catholic Mission Church. Beginning as a field laborer at an early age for agricultural producers, Mr. Gill advanced to and worked as irrigation foreman for Bruce Church, Inc. for 43 years before retiring in the 1990's. He enjoyed working with soil, water and plants and making things grow. He put family first and, together with his wife, he ensured that all his children had a college education even though he did not have a high school diploma.

If a man's success in life can be judged by whom he loved and how he lived his life, then Mr. Gill's life was a major success! To those who were blessed to know him, we remember the warmth of his unconditional love, the kindnesses he showed, his quiet way of being, and his dry sense of humor. While we are sad at his loss, we feel truly blessed and grateful to have had him in our lives. He will be greatly missed by: his sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Gill and Anne Dubey of Manassas, VA, Armando and Mary (Jody) Gill of Wickenburg, AZ; his daughter, Kathleen Gill and special family friend Ida Castrellon of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; his grandchildren John Carlo (JC) Gill and his wife, Rachel, of Palo Verde, AZ, Marisa Gill of Wickenburg, AZ, Gabrielle Gill of Manassas, VA and Elise Gill of Blacksburg, VA; great grandchildren Jade Vaughn, Knox, Kadence and Kali Rose Gill (all of AZ). In addition, he is survived by three half-sisters, Rita Velenzudla, Frances Call and Silvia Quezada, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife of 51 years, his parents, his sisters Carmen Arias, Delfina Delgado, and Fedelia Quintero and half-brothers Frank (Shorty) Gill and Joaquin (Jacky) Gill.

Funeral arrangements are being provided by Johnson Mortuary, Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 S. First Avenue, Yuma, AZ 928-782-4384. Expressions of sympathy may be provided in any form.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, December 15, from 5-9 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass for Mr. Gill will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. with burial at Desert Lawn Memorial park immediately following the mass.

Following the burial, a celebratory life barbeque will be held at The Chavez Ranch, 7837 E. County 2nd St, Yuma, AZ 85365.
