Frank J. Munafo was born August 16, 1932 in Harlem, NY to Dominick and Lena Munafo. Frank was the first of four sons. His brothers were Larry, John and Dominick.

After graduating Benjamin Franklin High School, Frank worked as a clerk in a New York City Bank where he met Ruth Campbell.

While Frank and Ruth were dating, the U.S. Army sent Frank to Korea as a member of the 40th Infantry. The distance did nothing to interfere with their love, as they wrote countless letters back and forth. Upon Frank's return to the states, Frank and Ruth married on February 25, 1956 in West Hempstead, NY. They remained happily married until Frank's passing on January 3, 2018, celebrating their 61st anniversary in 2017.

Frank and Ruth moved to St. Louis, MO where Frank worked as a technical writer at Douglas Aircraft, parlaying his degree from the Academy of Aeronautics into a successful career.

While in St. Louis, Ruth gave birth to their son Stephen in 1957. They returned to New York, where Frank worked at Republic Aircraft and Grumman Aircraft, rising to the managerial level. Frank also co-owned Mr. Mower in Huntington, and published a novel "The Gown and The Hood" in 1999.

In 1960, their daughter Arleen was born. Frank and Ruth bought their first home in West Islip, NY in 1961- "out in the country" - where they lived for more than 50 years. In 2013, they left their beautiful home to move to Florida to be nearer to Steve and his wife Sue, and Arleen & her husband Paul Kurtz, and their grandchildren Donna Munafo, Daniel, Robert & Christopher Kurtz.

God Bless you Frank. You will always be our cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. We will love you forever.
