Frank Lane Hanson age 65 passed away Tuesday morning April 20th, 2004 at Indian Valley District Hospital located in Greenville, CA following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born to California natives Curtis and Jesse (Rapport) Hanson in the community of Colfax, California on June 24th, 1938 he went on to serve his country honorably with the U.S. Navy as an aircraft sheet metal specialist.

Frank had spent a good portion of his adult life residing in the Feather River Canyon. He had resided in Belden, CA for the past ten years. Frank was a skilled mechanic who was also an accomplished race car driver. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and mining. He was a respected resource for the hobbiest mining the Feather River Canyon. Frank found great satisfaction in the company of visitors, chatting about life in the Feather River Canyon, while also sharing his cooking skills with all those who would take time to stay.

Frank is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Pamela Hanson of Lemoore, CA, daughter Kelly Sorenson of Magalia, CA, brothers Bob Hanson of Fresno, CA Chris Hanson of Florida and Bill Hanson, sisters Marianne Gaudin and Christy Settle both of Auburn, CA and Sandy Powell,grandchildren, Eric, Audrey, Emily, Natalie Hanson and Matthew and Melissa Long and his ex-wife Evelyn Hanson of Sunnyvale, CA.

Following cremation at Fehrman Crematory located in Quincy, CA a celebration of Franks life took place Saturday afternoon April 24th, 2004 at Gansner Bar a location Frank so loved in the Feather River Canyon.
