Franklin "Pops" Overby, a long time resident of Waldorf, MD, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at George Washington University Hospital.

Born on August 3, 1936 at home in Oxon Hill, MD, to Henry Overby and Sally Irene (Dalton) Overby. He was the second to the youngest of 11 children. He graduated from Louisa High School, Virginia in 1956. He served in the Army Reserves from 1957 thru 1965. He was married to his wife Frances for 56 years. He was a retired painter by trade and a life-long Redskins fan. His family was always of great importance to him and he adored all of his grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, Doc (Bernard), Judd, Lacy, Buck (Henry), Ridley (Richard), Mann (James), and Johnny and sisters Hilda (Bill), and Gloria (Jack). He is also preceded in death by his son Ryan.

He is survived by his sister Mary Abasto, wife, Frances, sons, Franklin Henry (Sandy), Carl Steven (Dawn), and Ronald Allen (Sarah), daughters, Kathy A. Janschek (Scott), and Cherry L. Tarbox (Gary), grandchildren, Cory (Buckshot), Sky (Skyshaq), Collin (Sparky), Franklin (Little Frankie), Ashley, Liam, Madison (Matt), Brice, Karly, Desiree, Mason, Ronan, and Arwin.

Family and friends celebrated his life and legacy on November 21, 2015 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, MD. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Marianne Brown Christofferson, was held on November 22, 2015 at 10:00am. Interment followed at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
