BERMAN, Freda J. Freda J. Berman, 91, of West Hartford, passed away late Sunday, (July 6, 2008) at Hebrew Home & Hospital in West Hartford. She was born in Hartford, a daughter of the late Isadore and Lena (Selwitz) Weidman, and was a former resident of Bloomfield for 20 years. She was employed with Aetna Life & Casualty as a Group Pension Clerk for many years, was a longtime member and past president of ORT, and was past president of the Newington Seniors. She was the wife of the late Philip Berman, who passed in 1995, and mother of the late Michael Berman, and leaves two loving children, Gary Berman and his wife Elizabeth of Simsbury, and Diane Keyser and her husband Arnold of Manchester; two grandchildren, Larry Keyser and Kimberly Berman; a great granddaughter, Emma Keyser; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and son, she was predeceased by two brothers, Milt and Lou Weidman; and two sisters, Adele Simons and Edith Cohan. Her funeral will be held TODAY, July 8, 2 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, with burial in John Hay Memorial Park, Garden Street, Hartford. A memorial period will be observed at the Keyser home in Manchester through Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Freda may be made to the March of Dimes, 867 Main St., Manchester, CT 06040 or the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494.
