Mr. Chesser was born Sept. 19, 1933, in New London, Conn. He married Janis Geottee in 1950 in Houston, raising five lovely daughters in their 56 years of marriage.

He served in the Air Force for 22 years, serving in Korea, Japan, Libya, Alaska and multiple other assignments in the continental U.S. After retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Chesser and family moved to Amarillo in 1972, where he managed the Civil Air Patrol Supply Depot for 31 years. He then opened Surplus &More, a military memorabilia business that supplied hats, pins, patches, ect., to veterans at the VA facilities and gun shows until his death.

He was an active Rotarian for 37 years in Amarillo East Rotary Club, active in several aviation organizations and a board member of the of Texas Air &Space Museum.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janis Chesser, in 2008; and his eldest daughter, Mary Ann Meadow, in 2010.

Survivors include four daughters, Donna Lynn, Deborah Kay and partner Lynne Cook, Patti Eileen and partner Earla Chesser-Spencer, all of Amarillo, and Toni Alice Chesser Nipp and husband Bruce of Frisco; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Singleterry and husband Jason, James Meadow and wife Kelly, Jason Hutchinson, Tiffany Nipp, Teal Nipp and husband Jerry Hagan, Tanner Chesser and wife Uteva, William Nathan DeAngelo Chesser Maximilliano Will Nipp, Jonathan Chesser, Katie Cook, Andrew Spencer and Amanda Spencer; and his great-grandchildren, Cade, August, Lyle, Jase, Riley, Aiyana and Salali.

The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo East Rotary Club, P.O. Box 735, Amarillo, TX 79105.
