G.M. "Doc" Freeman, age 85, passed away on February 5, 2017 at New Albany Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Pontotoc County on January 27, 1932 to Simeon Curtis and Mamie Ann Strawbridge Freeman. He attended school at Sherman and retired from Krueger Metal. He loved to travel and was an avid collector of antique Mason Jars. He was a longtime member of Endville Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Endville Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Powell officiating and Mike Westmoreland will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Endville Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy Johnson Freeman of Belden; and his three children, Vickie Westmoreland (Mike) of Pontotoc, MS, Gerry Freeman (Karen) of Belden, MS and Regina Adams (Rob) of Baldwyn, MS; a sister, Bobbie Jean Frost, of Tupelo, MS; six grandchildren, Chris Westmoreland (Melissa), Heath Westmoreland (Lisa), Audrey Prince (Steven), Kimberly Mooneyham (Jeffery), Brittany Freeman and Blake Adams (Molly); nine great-grandchildren, Cole Westmoreland, Walker Westmoreland,Kiersten Neal (Cody), Jake Westmoreland, Brittany and Haley Prince, Tori Chandler, Gavin Crumpton and Eli Owens; one great-great grandson, Colton Neal and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Hoyt and Kelby Freeman; and two sisters, Christine Francis and Katherine Langley.

Pallbearers will be Chris, Heath, Walker and Jake Westmoreland, Blake Adams, Gavin Crumpton and Eli Owens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cole Westmoreland, Steven Prince, Jeffery Mooneyham and Cody Neal.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2 PM Tuesday at Endville Baptist Church.
