Garrell Lynn "Buddy" Perkins

Buddy Perkins,age 69 resident of Austin, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on September 1,
2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Edison Perkins and his grandson, Alec Scott
Bauman.

Shortly after attending Vinton High School and McNeese State in Louisiana, Buddy enlisted in the
United States Air Force in June 1966. Stationed in Wichita, Kansas, Buddy was assigned logistical
duties on the base for the monitoring of subterranean missiles silos until his honorable discharge in
1970.

Buddy had some wonderful years as an insurance and new home Salesman throughout his life. These
careers took him all over the country from Wisconsin to Texas, and many states in between. He met
some wonderful people along the way, many whom remain lifetime friends. Buddy settled down in
Austin, Texas upon retirement.

Buddy is survived by his loving mother, Margie Chargois, son, Chad Perkins and daughter in law,
Anna Perkins, and daughter, Kecia Perkins Bauman and granddaughter, Jillian Bauman and many loving
family and friends. The family would like to thank all of those friends who took care of Buddy over the
last 9 months. He was truly blessed to have you by his side.

Visitation will be 4-8 pm, September 4th, 2016,at Hixson Funeral Home, 1420 Fancher St,
Vinton, LA, 70668 . Service and Burial with military honors will be Monday, September 5th, 10 am at
Hixson Funeral Home Vinton.
There will also be a separate Memorial service for those friends in the Austin area on Tuesday,
September 13, 2016 at 7pm at St. David's Episcopal Church, 301 E 8th Street, Austin, Texas 78701.
