Gary Andrew Bebo was born March 20, 1940 at Turton, SD to John and Alphena (Anderson) Bebo. He grew up in the Mellette area and later worked on the Oahe Dam in Pierre where he met his wife Shirley. They were united in marriage on September 15, 1961 in Pierre.

Gary and Shirley spent six years in Tucson, AZ but Gary always wanted to come home to South Dakota. They returned home where Gary helped his father on the family farm prior to farming on his own. Several years later he started his career as a truck driver.

Gary loved trucking, his customers as well as all the wonderful people he met along the way. He trucked until his health would no longer allow it. Gary spent seven years in a wheelchair. He loved going to the local coffee shop in his electric wheelchair. That was the highlight of every day, regardless of hail, sleet or blizzards. His coffee shop friends always watched out for him to be sure he got there and got home.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Shirley Bebo of Cresbard; his daughter, Annie (Marvin Rose) Bebo of Aberdeen; extended family Shawn and Shani Crane and family; two brothers, Richard (Darla) and Ronald (Faye) Bebo; one sister, Joyce (Maynard) Fortin; many nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved cat Makani

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alphena Bebo; step mother, Clara Bebo; one son, Robert Bebo and one brother, Robert Bebo.
