Gary "Gomer" Lee Hamilton of Conesville, IA passed away Sunday September 25, 2011 at the Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. A Memorial Service will be held on 12:00pm at the Grace United Church of Christ on Friday, September 30, 2011 with Pastor Rick Crooks officiating. Friends may call from 10:00-11:45am at the Church. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.

Gary is survived by his wife Joyce Hamilton and two daughters Claire Marie and Anna Jo Hamilton of Conesville; mother Deloris Hamilton, father and stepmother Marvin and Betty Hamilton, brother Larry Suiter and step-brothers Keith and Ron Lawrence all of Columbus Junction, Brian Lawrence of Washington, DC and Steve Lawrence of Johnston.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and brother Donnie Suiter.

Gary Lee Hamilton was born June 12, 1963 in Washington, Iowa to Marvin Lee and Deloris (Hills) Hamilton. Gary was a former city council member and mayor of Conesville. He also served on the Conesville Volunteer Fire Department. "Gomer" enjoyed spending time with family, especially Sunday night suppers and coffee at Aunt Mary's. He loved fishing, hunting, motocross, hare scramble races, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. But mostly Gary enjoyed being with his girls; teaching them how to hunt, fish, ride dirt-bikes, and especially teaching them to live in the moment and not to worry about tomorrow.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
