Gayle Lackey Hysaw, 79, passed away on June 7, 2016. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 25, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Bethany Baptist Church, Eddy, with Pastor Michael J. Campbell presiding. The Family will receive friends on Friday, June 24, 2016, 5:00-7:00 p.m., Cole Funeral Home, McGregor, Texas.

Gayle was born October 25, 1936, in Ft. Worth, to Buster Lackey and Myrtle Waldie Lackey. She attended Itasca schools, and remained fast friends with many of her friends from the Class of 1955. Gayle married E.R. "Jack Hysaw, and moved to Eddy, Texas where she owned and operated Eddy Video for 10 years. After Jack's death, in 1999, she cared for her youngest son, Mark and his twin boys, assuming guardianship of the twins, when Mark passed away in 2004. When her health began to fail, in 2013, she moved to Nacogdoches to live with her eldest son and his family. Gayle was employed by Safeway Stores in Dallas until she transferred to Hillsboro. She retired after 18 years of service, and after acquiring my Safeway friends.

Mrs. Hysaw was a lifelong member of the Baptist church, most recently a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, Eddy, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, Mark Wayne Higginbotham.

Survivors include her sons, Dr. James Davis and wife, Tammy, Nacogdoches, and Timothy Higginbotham, Bruceville-Eddy; grandchildren, Sean, Stephen, Erin, Gregory, Lance, Wolfgang, Heather, Tammy, Cody, Jake and Luke; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Judi Lackey Underwood, Itasca.
