Ret SMSgt George Joseph Henry Mohr, 90, passed away on October 30, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. George was born on July 24, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Edward J. and Augusta Cecilia (Modloff) Mohr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Narcissus Charline (Strain) Mohr, and his five siblings. He is survived by his three children: Larry Mohr of Norman, OK, Debbie Scott and husband Harral of Dallas, TX, and Laural McCoy and husband Paul of Ft. Worth, TX; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

George fought in WWII, and he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force after 24 years of service. While serving in the military he achieved numerous awards and decorations such as the Air Force Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. After retirement he worked at U.S. Postal Service as a supervisor of the Oklahoma Computer Site. George had a passion and talent for civic participation and leadership. He became a member of DAV, VFW, and Oklahoma City Literacy Council. He received the prestigious Governor's Award for leadership in Laubach Literacy. He was also an active member of First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, OK, where he was baptized in 2005, and Friendship Baptist Church, Hurst, TX.

In Oklahoma: Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 8:00pm; Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel, with full Military Honors. Interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK.

In Texas: A memorial service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 1248 W. Hurst Blvd, Hurst, Tx 76053, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 am. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Assoc. at www.heart.org.
