Gerald J. Bonniol, known to all as Jerry, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017 at his home in Plano due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was 82.

Jerry was a Southern gentleman, full of charm and friendliness and also full of drive and perseverance. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1999, he discovered Parkinson Voice Project in Richardson. He became very aggressive attending voice exercises several times a week which helped his vocal loudness and strengthened his swallowing capabilities. He was eating regular food up until the time of his death!

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Frank Bonniol; son, Charles M. Bonniol; and brother, Thomas F. Bonniol. He is survived by his wife and partner of 47 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Bonniol; son, Thomas E. Bonniol and daughter-in-law, Juanice Self Bonniol; daughter, Deborah L. Arnold and son-in-law, Jerry Arnold; and grandson, Matthew T. Arnold.

The family thanks the staff of Parkinson Voice Project for their help throughout the years. They also thank the team at Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their excellent services the past 1 ½ years. Thank you also to Jerry's caregiver from Home Instead Senior Care for her dedication in helping care for him the past 2 ½ years.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 6-8pm in Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, Dallas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:30am in St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church (1201 Alma Drive, Plano, TX 75075) with Fr. Clifford Smith as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, his family asks that memorial donations be made to Parkinson Voice Project, 646 N. Coit Rd., Suite 2250, Richardson, TX 75080 or Faith Presbyterian Hospice at 12477 Merit Dr., Dallas, TX 75251 or to the charity of your choice.
