Geraldine Mae DeWett, age 87 - born in Poughkeepsie, NY and resident of Clinton, MS died Thursday, December 21, 2017.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 23 at 11 a.m. at Morrison Heights Baptist Church with visitation beginning at the church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. DeWett had worked as a registered nurse for many years at several area hospitals. She also served as a bus driver and cafeteria worker with Clinton Public School Systems. Mrs. DeWett was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Campers Club, the Pilot Club of Clinton, and was a volunteer at the Quisenberry Library of Clinton. She was also a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church where she was a member of the Dorothy Orr Sunday School Class and volunteered with the Second Harvest ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.A. DeWett; grandson, Charles Matthew DeWett; parents, Gilbert Samuel Dubois and Leona Grace Judge Dubois; and her brothers, Arthur and Gilbert Dubois.

Survivors include three sons: Charles Arthur DeWett (Rachael), James Albert DeWett (Pam), Samuel Denton DeWett (Dell); daughter, Rebecca Diane DeWett; daughter of the heart, Nadia Povalinska; son of the heart, Dave Davidson; grandchildren: Jess Christopher DeWett, Gabriell Suzanne Hardin and their mother, Robin Mirick, grandchildren: Jeffery David DeWett, Denton Ray DeWett, Olya Gabriella DeWett Romanchenko, Tiffany Nicole DeWett, Michelle Christina DeWett, Joshua Caleb DeWett, and Clinton Samuel Davidson; great-grandchildren: Soloman Nathaniel Hardin, William Randal Hardin, Evelyn Rose Mirick, Charles Gabriel DeWett, Samuel Jacob DeWett, Zachariah Samuel DeWett, Allison Grace Burns, and Thomas Allen Burns, many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.

The family wishes to express their thanks to nurses and staff at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center PCU and 3N floor for their excellent loving care.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Morrison Heights Baptist Church or CARA in Jackson
