Germaine "Jimmie" Fiske, 97 years young
7-8-1919 to 9-26-2016

Germaine Fiske, widely known as "Jimmie Fiske", died peacefully at her home in Del Rey Oaks surrounded by her loving family at sunset on Monday September 26. Jimmie was born July 8, 1919 in Massachusetts, the daughter of Lewis and Gertrude Gaudette.

She graduated with honors from Upton High School in 1937 and the Worcester School of Comptometry in 1939.

Jimmie met the love of her life, Ernie in 1931 and they married in April 1943 while Ernie was in the Army, stationed in Montpelier, VT. After Ernie's discharge in 1947, they moved to the Monterey Peninsula where she and Ernie eventually became charter members of St. Francis Xavier Church. They were particularly proud to be the longest living and oldest residents of Del Rey Oaks.

Jimmie was an active member of the Mother's Club of San Carlos School, and a long-time volunteer at the MPVS thrift shop. Jimmie worked for over 22 years for the Monterey School District. She was a homemaker in the truest and most valued sense of the word. She loved gardening, reading, sewing, baking, long walks on the beach with Choo Choo, her dog, and the kids, both ballroom and square dancing. She loved being a wife, a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Originally hoping for 12 children, she nurtured only 7 with home baked bread, rhubarb pies, many batches of chocolate chip cookies, and a ton of love. A frequent winner of awards in gardening at the county fair she also dazzled the judges with her luscious home baking.

Jimmie is survived by her husband Ernest and her seven children: Katherine Campos, (Tannis, Mark, Victor and David), Susan (Lynn) Olson, (Kathleen, Kimberly and Eric), Deborah (Ray) Renee, (Jonathan and Shane), Ellen (Kevin) Martin, (Sarah and Claire ), Rebecca (Dave Custer) Fiske, (Jessica and Ben), Michael (Cheryl) Fiske, (Danny, Jason and Rachel), Sarah (Dale) McInturf, (Ryann and Madeline).

Jimmie will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
