Gideon Faust, 88, of Waynesboro went to be with his Lord, Sunday, September 03, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in Kentucky on July 8, 1929, a son of the late Henry Clay and Maude Mae (Pennington) Faust.

Gideon was a member of Heaven's Golden Gate's Church. He retired as a service technician for Wilson Trucking and he also worked for the City of Waynesboro for 20 years prior. Gideon will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Gideon was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine. Survivors include his children, James E. Faust and wife, Linda, Harold L. Faust both of Waynesboro, and Sue E. Clark and husband, Golden of Staunton, 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; extended family; and special friend and caregiver, Susan Windsor.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Heaven's Golden Gate's Church, 810 Grubert Ave., Staunton with Pastor Golden Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gideon's memory to the Waynesboro Senior Center, 325 Pine Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their loving care of Gideon and his family.
