Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4th, at Springlake Baptist Church with Pastor Guille Seigler & Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Red River County. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Gilbert, the son of Oscar Edgar Miller & Dessie Mable Hammer Miller, was born June 23, 1933, in the Moseley Community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, John Maddox and a much loved nephew, Billy White.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis Hoskins Miller, whom he married on June 1, 1957, building sixty years of memories, and his wife’s nieces and nephews. He was very close to his niece, Annette White, great nieces, Joy White Sills & husband Justin and Jordan White, and a much loved great-great-niece, Abby Annette Sills along with several cousins and a host of friends.

He retired from Superior Switchboard. Gilbert was a member of Springlake Baptist Church and taught a men’s Bible class for several years until his health failed. The family would like to thank the staff at the Heritage House of Paris, Drs. Thomas Troutt, Art Tijerina and A. Jabbar for their wonderful care.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be sent to Gilbert’s favorite charity, The Gideons International, P. O. Box 261, Paris, TX 75461.
