Gladys G. Hazel, age 87, of East Canton passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. She was born July 29, 1926 in Canton, Ohio to the late Charles and Eva Foltz. Gladys had a passion for playing the organ. She loved living in the country and enjoyed farming, gardening, sewing and canning. Gladys loved spending time with her children and grandson and great granddaughter and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William; brothers, Chuck, Earl and George Foltz; sisters, Arlene Welker, Edna Horner, Dorothy Burns and Helen Iden. Gladys is survived by her children, Linda (Hazel) Slutz, JoAnn (Hazel) Griffith and Martin (Jeanne) Hazel; grandson, William (Arryn) Slutz and great granddaughter, Addie Slutz and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 11:00am in Newcomers Chapel United Methodist Church, 11789 Sarbaugh SW Massillon, Ohio 44646 with Pastor Mike Bradford officiating. The Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel is entrusted with her arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Newcomers Chapel United Methodist Church.
