Glen Le Vern Denny passed away June 19, 2017 at the age of 97. He was born November 22, 1919 to Stanford and Mary Magdalene Denny at their home, Skillet Fork, outside of Orchardville, Illinois. Vern is survived by his wife of 70 ½ years, Mary Lou; their two children Blair Denny and his wife Deanna, and Joanna S. Denny; three grandchildren, Grant, Phillip and Greg; as well as his brother Donald L. Denny. Vern served in the Navy from 1942-1946 and before WWII he worked for the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. Vern put himself through college by being the cook in his fraternity, and was also known in college as the "Kokomo Kid" for his time spent in the boxing ring. While growing up, Vern liked to hunt and fish and later in life he enjoyed playing bridge. Vern always had time for his children and grandchildren, whether it was playing catch or teaching life skills. Vern worked for Gulf Oil for over 38 years and was also an avid OU Football Fan! He will be remembered as a very nice and honest man who was devoted to his family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lakeside United Methodist Church, 2925 NW 66th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116.
