PEORIA - Glenn Burdett, 91, of Peoria passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Heartis Village of Peoria.

He was born on August 10, 1926, in Peoria to Albert and Cora (Vicary) Burdett Sr. He married Wanda M. Creighton on May 21, 1949, in Peoria. She survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Pam (Steve) Gilles of Kickapoo and Lori Ross of London Mills; a son, Steve (Marie) Burdett of Mt. Pleasant, SC; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Marc) Koch, Jennifer Metz, Terry Ross, Michael (Molly) Gilles, Shaina Ross and Michelle Burdett; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; two daughters; one son; four brothers, Albert, Chester, John and Robert; and one sister, Alice Stoller.

He served in the Navy during World War II. After he left the service, he made his living as an auto body technician, working for Peoria motors, among other body shops in the Peoria area. He later owned Singer RV repair. He belonged to many groups, such as the Peoria County Farm Bureau, TPA, the USS Allen M. Sumner Reunion Association, Peoria Obedience and Timberlake Country Club. He was also a member of the Memorial Christian Church. Glenn and Wanda wintered in the Rio Grande Valley area for 20-plus years.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Father Joe Dondanville will officiate. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions can be made in Glenn’s name to Pottstown Cemetery Association.
