Glennie Ray Campbell, 75, of Old Greenville Road, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Augusta Health. He was born in Montebello on April 18, 1942, a son of the late Hersey Franklin and Rhoda Lee (Allen) Campbell.

Glennie was self-employed as a general hauler and in construction most of his life. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Operating heavy equipment, hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR, were a few of his favorite hobbies. Glennie will be remembered for being a hardworking family man and a prankster.

In addition to his parents, Glennie was greeted into Heaven by his siblings, Sadie, Ruby, Florine, Annie, Eldin "Frank" and Kennard.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Helen Marie (Miller) Campbell; children, Ricky Campbell and wife, Cindy, Glenn Campbell and wife, Lynn, Tony Campbell and wife, Sylvia and Sherry Hatter and husband, Timmy; sister, Ellen Mae Conner and husband, Albert; sisters-in-law, Geneva and Clementine Campbell; grandchildren, Brandon Campbell and wife, Lauren, Joshua Campbell and wife, Kristin, Cody Campbell and wife, Samantha, Kelsey Campbell and fiancé, Nick Fortin, Katelin Campbell, Michael Campbell, Kaylee Campbell, Keyrsten Campbell and Kaedin Hatter; great grandchildren, Ascher, Avonlea and Jase Campbell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Victory Baptist Church, 1176 Lee Jackson Hwy, Staunton, with Pastor Rador Ogden officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stuarts Draft.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the church.
