Gloria Correa Davalos, 71, of Soledad, passed away on March 16, 2012 at Carmel Hills Care Center in Monterey. Gloria was born on an April spring day in 1940 in Santa Barbara, California. Gloria joins her parents, Ramon and Candelaria, brother, Ray, and son, Clinton Jonathon, who preceded her in death. She is missed by her surviving brothers and sisters; Richard Davalos, Margaret (David) Ramirez, Esther (Don) Kearns, Tom (Lilly) Davalos, Rudy Davalos; as well as several nieces and nephews. Gloria's parents moved the family from Santa Barbara to Soledad where she grew up, went to schools in the area and began her long time career with the Dept of Corrections. After spending much of her adult life away from Soledad, she returned after retirement and re-established her life with friends and family. Rosary services will be held Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10am at Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church, 235 main St, Soledad; followed with Memorial Mass at 10:30am. A private committal will take place at the Soledad Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Gloria's name to the Soledad Historical Society.
