Goldie Mae Harvey Pierson went home to be with the Lord, on Monday February 27, 2017. Services were held Saturday 4, 2017 at 10:30 am, at Riley Funeral Home with Burial at Gentry's Mill. Goldie was born in Colorado City, Texas on September 4, 1926 to Annie Mae Rhodes Harvey and Jasper Harvey. Goldie graduated from Hamilton High School in 1945. During her high school years, Goldie worked at Penny's Five and Dime. Later she became a bookkeeper for Garner Alvis. In 1958 Goldie started her banking career as a teller at the Hamilton National Bank where she worked twenty- seven years. Goldie retired as an Assistant Vice-President of the Hamilton National Bank on November 6, 1975. Goldie and Henry Pierson were married on July 14, 1946. Goldie lived her Christian life as an active member of Hamilton and Lamkin Methodist Churches. She enjoyed teaching children's Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School, baking cakes and pies for her Harvest Festival projects, being the Secretary Treasure, and participating in Senior A's. Goldie is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pierson, her parents Jasper and Annie Mae Harvey, brothers, Robert J Harvey, JJ Harvey, and John Newt Harvey, her sisters Marie McGee, Pat Pope, Sue Pierson, and Tommie Kennedy, and son-in-law James DeLaney.
Survivors include her Children, Linda DeLaney, Howard and wife Pat Pierson, grandchildren, Amy and husband Andy Hernandez; Jennifer and husband Bill DeLaney; April and husband Colin Thomson; Krystle and husband Steven Page; Phillip Pierson; great grandchildren Allegra, Drew, and Henry Hernandez,
Xavier Verdugo and Pierson DeLaney; Oliver and Daisy Thomson; Hannah and Trey Page; sister-in-law's Faye Massingill, Delphia Harvey and Sherry Harvey and many other friends and relatives.
