Gordon Thorpe, age 58, a resident of Spooner, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

Gordon was born on April 30, 1955, in Shell Lake, Wisconsin to parents Glenn and Gloria (Wood) Thorpe. On May 31, 1986, Gordon was united in marriage to Patricia Kowalski in Trego, Wisconsin. Gordon worked for 33 years as a conductor with the Chicago Northwestern and Union Pacific Railroads and was set to retire in less than a year. Gordy loved his family and friends very much. He had the big heart of a servant and would help out anytime he could. Gordy had a great passion for the great outdoors. Growing up in the northwoods kindled his love of hunting, fishing, camping, and walks in the woods. His family and friends grieve this loss and will forever love him and keep our memories of him in our hearts forever.

Gordy is survived by his wife of 27 years Patricia, daughters Helen Perotti and Kathryn Thorpe, sister Judy (Michael) Fedo and niece Kimberly Fedo and great niece Chelsea Frolik and great nephew Cameron Frolik, niece Kacey (Warren) Fedo Bostrom and great nieces Madeline, Zoe, and Sofia, and great nephew Wyatt.

Gordy is preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Gloria (Wood) Thorpe.

Funeral services for Gordon Thorpe will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 1pm, with Pastor Russ Leeper officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 12- 1pm at the Church. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake, Wisconsin. Casket bearers will be Mark Johnson, Greg Schindledecker, Brad Salquist, Jeff Burch, Michael Fedo, and Cameron Frolik.
