Gregory M. Kraczkowsky, 70, of Hartford, CT passed away on September 24, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in New Britain to the late Michael and Mary (Yurko) Kraczkowsky, he was the eldest of five siblings. Greg graduated from Pulaski High School in 1965, where he met his wife, Kathleen Grey, whom he married in 1972. A 1969 graduate of Florida Southern College, he played on the golf team and was a member of Kappa Sigma. Professionally, Greg was a founder and owner of MGM Concrete Construction with his father and brother, Michael. Greg's natural habitat was the golf course, with his love for the game beginning as a young caddy. He was an active member of the Hartford Golf Club, where his affable persona was perfectly paired with his signature brightly colored attire. After falling ill, his army of friends, led by Wallace Ronald, Dean Tulumaris, and Dr. Neil Yeston, constructed a memorial stone bridge at Hartford Golf Club's 6th hole. Recently, he served on Hartford's Golf Oversight Commission, spearheading renovations to the Keney Park Golf Course. The life of any party, Greg was a man with a larger than life personality and sense of humor - he will be missed by all. Greg is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen; son, Dr. Gregory Jr; daughter, Kristen, and her husband, Dr. Nate Readal; brothers Bruce (Nancy); Michael (Lynn Smith); sister Amy (Kurt) Hull; niece, Amanda; nephew, Matthew; aunt, Marilyn; extended family, Annette Jervasi, and Nancy and William Galligan. He is predeceased by his brother, Mark. The family expresses gratitude to the wonderful staff of Smilow Cancer Center at Yale.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hartford Golf Club Scholarship Foundation,134 Norwood Road, West Hartford, CT 06117. Greg enjoyed speaking with the club's college staff; in his nature, he was unabashed in asking them "What's your GPA?" A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 29th at 8:30 am at the Hartford Golf Club at the above address. Burial will be private with family. Arrangements entrusted to New Britain Memorial-Sagarino Funeral Home. To share a memory, please go to www.newbritainsagarino.com
